I'm curious how Kove was able to reduce the weight of the new 800X. I am aware that it weighs less than many bikes in its class, but is there anyone who knows the precise modifications that were made? Modifications to the frame? Distinct parts? If anyone has information, it would be great to get a breakdown.

yep, the Kove 800X's weight is truly impressive. It'd be great to know if it's all about the frame, or if there are specific lightweight components that make all the difference.

Kove cut about 14 kg by swapping the steel rear subframe for a lightweight aluminum one, removing passenger pegs and racks, and switching to a single front brake disc. I did something similar on my XT660 by ditching steel parts for alloy and trimming accessories,it makes a big difference without losing strength.

Are you looking to lighten your bike or just curious about their approach?

Yeah I think they shaved weight with the aluminum subframe and also dropped the dual-disc up front. Better make smart choices if you prefer to invest in agility over two-up touring.
